Oh Kaitlin I heart you. I was approached by Kaitlin to review her first book, Persephone. Well, if you know me ... I LOVE Greek Mythology, so I jumped at it!

Her books aren't just good, they are outstanding. She brought Hades and Persephone relationship into a whole new light for me. I might even have Hades on my Book Boyfriend List (just sayin)

MARY'S REVIEW:

I don't think I have loved another Greek Myth series as much as this one. This series is AMAZING!! I know I have said it before but I will, gladly, repeat myself....I LOVE HADES!! LOVE HIM LOVE HIM!!!!

Best part of book: In Book 2: Daughter of the Earth and Sky we left off when Zeus confronted Persephone in the park. Then was left with a HUGE cliffhanger. So happy that Kaitlin Bevis picked right up where we left off at.

Well, Zeus really needs Persephone because with her he could gain access to the Underworld and the Living Realm. Zeus is a big ol' jerk, let me tell you and I did not like him at all.  When he finally got Persephone and had her captive, he torture her. He need her to swear fealty to him and Persephone was a lot stronger. Although, I was not sure how long she was going to last because she still had not come into her powers yet.

This book was different than the other two because Kaitlin Bevis told it from three points of view: Hades, Persephone and Aphrodite.  I really, really enjoyed Hades point of view because you could see his real struggle. He loves Persephone, a lot, and wants to save her. I did enjoy Aphrodite's point of view because we could see her struggle with being loyal to her family and doing the right thing. I felt really bad for her at time. 

Hades came up with a plan to get Persephone back and then Aphrodite comes up with a plan. All of which made me hold my breath because I was scared what would happen to Persephone. 

Now, I don't want to spoil what happens but TRUST ME you will not want to put this down!!!

Not so great about the book: I loved the progression of the story. I could not put it down. I LOVED IT!! The one thing I was confused about (and I am hoping that Kaitlin will answer me back on it) the story ended. There was no huge cliffhanger, but I felt like there was still an opening for a another story. Or, possibly, a spin off of the other characters in the book.  THIS WOULD MAKE ME SO HAPPY!!!

You will not be disappointed when you read this series and YES you will fall in love with HADES!

MARY'S REVIEW:

First, I need to thank Kaitlin Bevis for two things.  1) Thank you for the book 2) thank you for Hades (ya, never thought I would say that I am in love with Hades)

Second, I need to calm down before I write this review because I am still reeling from the book.  OMG!  I thought book 1: Persephone was good, but this was WAY BETTER!

Lastly, OMG!!! I need book 3 so badly .... and I have to wait............ *hangs head*

Best part of the book:  Ok, I am just going to say it .. *clears throat* Hello.  My name is Mary and I am in love with Hades.  *phew* glad I got that out of the way. Now onto the review!!

I need to say this, Kaitlin Bevis knows how to write!! Let me explain, I am a HUGE Greek-Geek.  I have loved Greek Mythology most of my life.  I have never (not one time, ever) thought of loving Hades.  He is the God of the Underworld, why love him? Kaitlin puts him in a whole different light and in this book I just love him more!

At the end of Book 1 Persephone was heading back to her mother's realm, to go back to school and be normal.  Well, that didn't really happen!  She made a promise to Thanatos and Hades can't quite figure it out.  There were at times in this book that I just wanted to grab Persephone and hug her.  When you read this book you forget that she is still so young and just needs friends/family to help her.

Then there Hades.  He seems to always be on the verge of telling Persephone his feelings but stops every time. (that kills me).  He wants to protect her too from her father, Zeus, and he can't because she keeps pulling away.  Oh, Hades.

Not so great about book:  The one (and only) thing that is wrong with this book is that there is another cliffhanger and I do not have book 3. *hangs head* I am so impatient ........

Mary's review:

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.  This book had me at Persephone!  I am a HUGE Greek-Myth-Nerd! I have been for years and I LOVED book!!

Best part of book:  This book caught me at page 1! I love Kaitlin Bevis' take on Hades and Persephone.  In this book Persephone is a teenage girl, who has not come into her powers yet.  She doesn't even know that she is a Goddess yet!! But, when she is attacked, Hades comes and saves her and marks her as his bride. I loved that part!  Oh, I just loved how descriptive Kaitlin Bevis was about the Underworld.  On top of that, I LOVED Hades.  Ok, ok maybe you should not love the God of the Underworld, but Kaitlin Bevis put a different perceptive on him and the world itself.  Kind of made me wonder if I was wrong about Hades all these years!  He was more than just a God and his love and compassion for Persephone was unwavering.

Not so great about the book:  I can't really say anything was "no great" about the book.  It held my interest the whole time.  There was action, love and mystery.  There was "dragging" parts that made the story "too much".  I loved all the characters and it was GREAT!

I am so glad I have book 2 in my hands .. right now!
