The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

I am a huge fan of Dan Brown.  I have read The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons; they both outstanding books.  So, when I heard that he was going to have another book, just as outstanding, I was so excited.  It seems to take me forever to get to it because my “to-read” list is VERY long.  However, I did make it to it and here are my thoughts:
The beginning was just like the other books.  Robert Landon begins a deep and imbedded quest to solve the mystery of his friend, Peter Solomon.  Peter is a Freemason and a mentor of Robert’s.  The story is station completely in Washington DC.  Through all the twist and turns there is one thing that Dan Brown does like no author does: makes history interesting.  Throughout Robert’s journey to find Peter alive and well and put the insane kidnapper away, is the history of Washington DC, our founding fathers, a d the Freemasons.
It did take me a few chapters to get into it, but once I did it was a fast read.  Please do not be scared off by the size of the book it is worth every page.
