TGIF with Ginger @ GReads

Ginger at GReads brought up a very good question with her TGIF topic of the day.  We all enjoy discussing our favorite books and recommend them to EVERYONE we know, but what about the books we did not enjoy?  We never hear about those, so here is your opportunity to share with others the names of books you simply could not finish.

Just because a book is mentioned in this not so favorable category does not mean that it is not a good book.  For example...one of the books that Ginger could not finish, several of the BookNerds gave 5* to on Goodreads.  It is all a matter of personal preference.  Not everyone is going to enjoy every book they attempt to read.  For some, the pretty cover that lured them into buying the book was perhaps nothing more than a pretty cover.  Please take a minute to share with us the books you simply could not finish and why.

Jacque's List:

Einstein's Dreams by Alan Lightman:  There simply wasn't any continuity to the book.  Each chapter took one of Einstein's theories and tried to make a story out of it.  After three nights in a row of falling asleep in a matter of thirty minutes or less, I decided that this book just wasn't for me.  It wasn't leading anywhere, so I decided to cut my losses and returned it to the library unfinished.

Teri's List is posted on her blog. Click her to see her comments.

  1. Haven't read this book. I usually post reviews even if I didn't enjoy a book though. I don't like doing it as much as when I have a positive review to write but its important to me to be honest no matter what i thought ^-^

    Great topic!
