BOOK REVIEW: Bet in the Dark by Rachel Higginson

Goodreads description:

All Ellie Harris wanted was a life of her own.

In a shortsighted decision, she follows her high school boyfriend to college, only to get cheated on and then dumped. And to add insult to injury her overprotective family is suddenly clinging to her again, fighting to control every part of her life.

Bad luck follows her hasty decision and when her roommate steals her identity and leaves town, Ellie is left to clean up a gigantic mess.

Fin Hunter insists Ellie owes him seven thousand dollars from an online poker game and he is determined to get it from her. Determined to keep her family out of her life, Ellie agrees to work for Fin in his illegal online poker operation. He’s given her six weeks to pay off the debt.

Soon sparks are flying between them and the only thing keeping her from falling for him is the debt she still owes and the money she doesn’t have.

At the end either Ellie will have to pay the mistaken debt or bet in the dark that her feelings for Fin will be worth more than the money.

MARY'S REVIEW:

I don't think that it's possible for me to love Rachel Higginson anymore. Well, I was wrong!!

As many of you know (because I talk about Rachel all the time) Rachel is one of my most favorite authors. Her books suck me into worlds that I never want to leave! EVER!

So, when she announced this book I knew I would like it as much as the others.........well, I did not like it .......... I LOVED IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O...M...G...I finished this book so quickly that I had to read it again before I did this review....

Best Part of the Book: Hello FIN!! My new book-boyfriend......Oh I didn't think Rachel could ever take my heart away from Kiran (from her Star Crossed Series), but it's close!! Ellie and Fin meet because Ellie's roommate stole her identity had lost A LOT of money in a poker game. When Fin comes to collect, Ellie doesn't have the money and no way to pay it back. So, Finn come up with the idea how Ellie can work it off. She will work for him.

Well, where do I apply for that job!!!!

Soon, you see that Ellie is slowing falling for Fin, but there are obstacles in the way and it's her own stubbornness. Fin is someone that you think is one person (Mr. Bad Boy) but BAM, you find something out about him and you go .. aaawwwww, Fin!!! ... and fall in love with him more!!

Not so great about the book: So, here is what I didn't like... 1) Rachel Higginson wrote the best kiss scene I HAVE EVER READ!! Why did I not like it? Because I was in public when I was reading it and I know I was blushing!!!!! (HEHE!! Just kidding I love it)

2) I NEED MORE FIN!! I will patiently stalk Rachel's website until she announces more Fin...............

....................waiting.......................waiting.....................I will keep waiting
