His fingers wrapped around the back of my neck, pulling me hard against his
body. I knew what he was attempting to do, but his plan was backfiring.
My body sighed at the contact, and every curve molded against him;
desperate to feel all of him.
“If I feel you beneath me, I won’t
be able to stop Araya. I want you too damn much! I want you, all of you.
I want to be buried so deep inside of you, you won’t know where I end
and you begin.” His breath showered my lips with warmth.
“I won’t want you to stop Ryland. I need you, all of you, now and forever.”
“And the rest?”
His
eyes move over my face, flushing my skin with the intensity of his
gaze. The rhythm of my heart increased, because I know what he wants me
to say.
“Say it.” He growls against my lips.

Meet the Author
I find it hard to sum up my life in a paragraph, but I’ll try.
I am the author of Flutter, The Discover Series! Reading has always been a passion for me, and writing as instinctive as breathing.
Every inhale is an idea; every exhale a creation. The only thing I do better than writing you ask? Making beautiful girls. My daughter’s will always be my greatest accomplishment.
I was born in Denver, Colorado–but I will always think of sunny Arizona as my home. I don’t have a big family, but I’m close with my sister, brother
& my mom. My mom is my hero, my inspiration, and I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing person to be raised by.
4 things you should know about me: I’m very girly, but I can get down and dirty with the best of them. I adore the color pink and things that sparkle
(including vampires), I am a firm believer that chocolate cures ALL and I like even numbers (hence 4 things about me, not 5) Okay, maybe I cheated a little with my list, shhhh.

Reviews:

“I was riveted. Alpha Girl is quite intimate and has a fairly small cast of characters. The protagonist is very believable and wasn't annoying, which is a frequent problem in a lot of books featuring teenage lead characters narrating in the first-person. This is a romance (albeit a twisted one). Don't pick up this book expecting a darkly sweet, cutesy love story. This book will blast you out of your comfort zone and make you hate yourself for turning the page. But you will turn the page.”
- Review of Alpha Girl by Mark Carver, Author of The Age of Apollyon.

Excerpt (Ch 8)-
Mr. Stone’s smile faltered. ‘I like my women to have a mind of their own – to be witty. Like you.’
My throat closed up. Like me?
‘You’re an amazing girl,’ he said suddenly.
His use of the word girl made my stomach twist painfully.
‘Am I?’ I asked.
‘Of course.’
‘A girl?’
He smiled knowingly. ‘An amazing woman,’ he corrected himself.
‘No one has ever told me that before,’ I said.
‘I don’t believe that,’ he smiled. ‘You’re clever, and beautiful, and damn witty.’
Mr. Stone’s jaw tensed as he realized what he was saying.
‘Beautiful?’ I asked, the word escaping as nothing more than a whisper.
‘Don’t you know?’ he asked.
My heart thundered as I stared at him. Oh please, my mind begged. Please tell me what is going on in that head of yours.
‘D-don’t I know what?’ I asked.
‘Don’t you know what you’re doing to me?’ He said as though I was torturing him.
‘What?’ My skin stung and my head swam with the possibilities.
‘Rose, I-’ He paused to collect his thoughts. ‘I’ve felt this … this pull towards you since day one. I can’t explain it.’
He didn’t need to explain it, because I felt it too. His eyes, his smile and his scent had me drawn in.
I placed a shaking hand over his, which was still on the steering wheel. He looked at our hands for a moment before allowing me to thread my fingers through his. I could feel his pulse in between each of my fingers.
Mr. Stone inhaled deeply. ‘Christ,’ he muttered, shutting his eyes tightly.
‘What’s the matter?’ I breathed.
‘That … that scent. The way you smell-’
I suddenly became very self-conscious. Bullies at school often accused me of smelling like wet dog. I
sniffed my shirt, but I smelled perfectly normal.
‘What is it?’ I said defensively. ‘I showered this morning-’
Mr. Stone laughed, and I felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment.
‘No,’ he said with a small smile. ‘You smell amazing.’
‘I do?’
‘Absolutely. You always do.’
I never wore perfume, only regular home brand antiperspirant.
‘It makes me dizzy,’ he confessed. ‘It’s intoxicating.’
‘What do I smell like?’ I asked, rather flushed.
Mr. Stone licked his lips as though he could taste me in the air. ‘Sweet,’ he said.
My cheeks burned crimson, and I wished he would look at me. I couldn’t believe this was happening.
‘I want to kiss you so very badly, Rose,’ Mr. Stone said under his breath. ‘But I can’t … and it’s killing me.’
My heart hammered so loudly against my ribcage that I was sure Mr. Stone could hear it from where he sat.
Suddenly, I felt powerful. He wanted me … and it terrified him.
‘Mr. Stone,’ I breathed, but he still didn’t look at me. ‘Tom.’
A small groan escaped him as though his name leaving my lips was taboo.
‘Look at me,’ I said, my eyes fixated on him.
‘I can’t,’ he said, shaking his head.

BLOG TOUR: Of Gaea by Victoria Escobar

Of Gaea
Book #1 in the Of Legacies Series
By Victoria Escobar
Publication Date: March 20, 2013

Blurb-
Her choice will change the world.

She hated the wheelchair. Hated the way it made her feel less than what she was. Most of all she hated not being able to do all the things she used to. Ari had been a track and field star, an archery champion and an Eskrima pro. Now she was confined to a wheelchair slowly dying inside from its restraints.

Medical science wasn’t working. The tests, the drugs, the therapies were all useless and a waste of time. She was tired of wasting her time; she was tired of failure. It was time to look away from the obvious and try something unconventional.

Nothing was ever free and that included miracles. Abruptly, Ari finds herself tangled in a web of lies, questioning everything she’s ever known as truth. Never had she believed she’d be thrown headfirst into a world of good and evil, magic and Gods.

Trapped in the middle of a war she had never known existed both parties demanded her allegiance. Ari was a catalyst that could change all the rules of the Earth. But when the time comes to make a choice will she be strong enough to know right from wrong?

Excerpt-

When the sun was nearly gone Ari began to fidget. “You should turn a light on.”

“Afraid of the dark?”

“It’s not the dark I fear, but what resides in it.” Ari bit her lip as she scanned the growing shadows. “I’ve seen things in the shadows, things I’d rather not fall prey to.”

He didn’t laugh or jeer but slowly stood and walked over to the edge of the circle. From his pocket he lit a match and then dropped the lit match to something she couldn’t see.
A ring of fire rose from the ground and traced the circumference of the circle. When it touched itself it went out, but there was a light, that she couldn’t explain in its place. It wasn’t the red light of fire either, but a cool, almost clean feeling light.

“Our mother Gaea, this night we ask for protection, this night we ask for healing. This night we ask you bless the faithful with Your love.”

Ari could hear Leonidas’s prayer from where she sat, or rather, she felt it. The words weren’t quite right though. She didn’t hear them as he spoke them, but as a chorus of voices together as one. The voices chanted together and drowned out Leonidas’s words. Goosebumps broke out
along her arms.

As Leonidas shuffled back over Ari saw movement behind him. The darkness that she feared manifested along the edge of the circle. It had more form than it had previously. The demon horse was more pronounced in shape and larger than she remembered it being. There was with ooze streaming from its head and tail and dark rivulets of liquid streamed over
him that she could only envision as some form of acid.

The trees and plants seemed to shrink back away from it. Or at least that’s what she thought until the light creature joined it. Then she realized what the darkness killed the light was bringing back to life only for the vicious cycle to continue.

She was more shaped this time too. She looked like a white peacock with the train of light behind her wings and tail. Everything about her glowed and it was painful to look at her for too long.

“Can you see them?” Ari gestured to the edge of the circle.

Leonidas turned and even though Ari didn’t see his face she saw his posture still and harden. “You are not welcome here. Gaea walks here, not you. Be gone! You have no business here.”

“The child is our business.” The light creature danced up the wall searching for an entrance.

“Give her to us and we shall leave everything as it was found.” The dark thing wasn’t so subtle and struck the wall of light with its hooves.

Gaea walks here.” The Kirin appeared inside the circle. Her voice was a beautiful song. “Leave this place. Now.” She stamped her hoof once.

The other creatures only hissed at her. The Kirin reared backed and then charged. She rammed into both of them and all three vanished. Before their eyes the trees and plants sprung back to the way they had been only minutes before.

“Now I’ve officially seen everything.” Leonidas muttered. “How often do you see them?”

Ari laughed weakly. “Do nightmares count?”

Leonidas bent down to look in her eyes. “Nightmares always
count.”
