Friday's Fictional Boyfriend: Aiden St. Delphi

This weeks Fictional Boyfriend is:

Aiden St. Delphi

He hails from Jennifer L. Amentrout's Covenant Series.

While reading this series I was not sure on my feeling about him.  Was he good? Could he really be trusted?  What is up with the mood swings?

Aiden was very serious about his job with the Sentinel and he cared very much about his family.  However, his relationship with Half-Blood, Alexandria Andros (Alex) is what I love to read the most.  That is also where his "mood swings" come in at.

All of  my answers came in the Book 3 of the Series: Deity!  OMG! I love Aiden and he is more than what you can see (or what you read on the page)!

Deity (Covenant #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Goodreads description:

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

MARY'S REVIEW:

I know that this book came out months ago but I couldn't bring myself to read it. Why, you ask?! Because I was so nervous about what was going to happen!!!!! At the end of Pure, I am not sure if Seth or Aiden would become my next fictional boyfriend.  It was all too much to handle!  Then there was Alex and all of her issues, I just wasn't sure what Deity held because Pure was SO GOOD!

Best Part of Book:  First, HOW COULD I HAVE DOUBTED JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT!!!???  I mean seriously, what was I thinking?  Deity picks up where Pure left off and everything is a hot-mess in Alex's life.  Seth is hardly leaving her side and there is Aiden, who seems to be there when she needs someone the most!  That poor girl (yea, right!).  It wasn't until later in the book that I began to wonder what the heck was happening and then *BAM* Jennifer throw a twist into the book!  (and it is good!)  I was totally confused because I wasn't sure who was "good" and who was "bad"!?!?!?!  But, there was one part that made it all perfect!  I can honestly say that I am 100% TEAM AIDEN!  That Pure makes me *swoon*!

Not so great about book: If you have read the first two books, I think will understand when I say this: THIS IS THE BEST ONE YET!!!  There is not a single thing wrong with this book! NOTHING!!!!! It was a complete page turner and at the end I was yelling because I didn't want it to end!!!

GREAT JOB JENNIFER!!!!! =)

Half-Blood (Covenant #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Goodreads Description:

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Mary's Review:

I really wish I had read this series sooner!  However, I am so far behind in my "to-read" list this kept getting pushed back.  Shame on me!!!  Now that I have read it I cannot wait for more!!

Best part of book:  There are 3 parts that I consider the best of the book: Aiden, Seth and Alexandria!  I cannot say how awesome these three characters are.  Aiden: pure-blood, Sentinel, trainer to Alex and loves Alex but cannot be with her because of the Breed Order.  Seth: half-blood, First Apollyon, hot-head and also deeply cares for Alex.  Alex: half-blood, loves Aiden (but can't be with him) and is confused about Seth (hates him one minute and not sure about him the next) . On top of that she finds out two things that changes her life forever and has to deal with them.

Worst part of book:  The only thing that I did not like that much was the feelings Alex had for Seth and Aiden.  It was back and forth the whole time.  However, I understand the reasons for it.  She cannot be with Aiden because of the Breed Order.  She could be with Seth and feels a pull to him but does not get along with him all the time.

Why should others read this:  You should read this because Jennifer is an amazing author.  She gives and amazing twist on mythology and a troubled teenage girl.  Jennifer really makes you feel so sorry for Alex and all her issues; however, at the same time she makes you cheer for Alex too!  I love that about her.

Onto Book 2:  Pure
