ABOUT LOVE AND SKATE:

Blurb:
On the rink she’s tough, she’s a leader, she’s fast and she’s the epitome of a rebellious girl. But Nellie’s been hurt, only once, but it was enough to make her look at life through different eyes and off the rink she’s a timid girl who loves with no pretenses.
A long time ago Owen Black was betrayed by the girl he thought he loved and the guy he called his best friend. The anguish set off a domino effect of negativity in his life and he never has fully recovered. He meets Nellie Forrester and thinks he can let it go for her.
But how can you love someone when the wounds from your past are still wide open?

Blurb:
Despite the odds, Reed Wolfe is making it, by the skin of her teeth. Her dreams and aspirations will have to wait until she can get on her feet. Because right now she’s homeless and churning on a downward spiral.

Falcon Black is existing. Not living, not thriving, just jutting along a path. But when he finds Reed, he can’t resist the urge to help her, lighten her load. But Falcon tends to go overboard, over the line, crossing boundaries he never thought he would and risking her trust in the process.

Can she accept his love or will it end up smothering her?

Blurb:

Maddox is running.
By accident, he discovered long ago that he was adopted as a baby and his need to find his biological father has consumed him ever since. Now, on a road trip, determined to find his father and his sanity, and armed with locations and his cousin, Nixon, to help him, maybe he can find the answers he’s been searching for. With nothing but a suitcase and a wad of cash to get him there, lead after lead takes him further from home.
But he’ll find much more than he intended.
He finds Storey, a pint sized pin-up model who has learned painful lessons about guys. Her wounds run deep, but so do his. She knows what she wants, but will she recognize it when it’s right in front of her?
Maddox can’t touch anyone without feeling like his skin is crawling, but just maybe his instinct to protect this amazing girl will supersede his own hang-ups.
If he can brush her skin and start to feel alive inside...everything will change.

MY REVIEW:

I loved the first two books!!! There both were outstanding!! When Lila announced this book, I flipped because I knew that it would be just as good as the others.

Best part of the book: The whole story was amazing!! I don't even know where to begin. I love Maddox as much as I loved Owen and Falcon. This story was not like the other ones.  Maddox and his cousin Nixon are on a road trip.  However, this was much different than a typical road trip, Maddox is searching for his biological father because he found out that he was adopted.

Maddox and Nixon head town to town but keep coming up empty. It is not until they hit the west coast they get a lead and Maddox finds Storey. LOVE her!!! She and Maddox are a perfect fit.

Now, I want to tell you every detail of this book and gush on for forever, but I won't spoil it.  Just trust me... READ IT!

I do have to say one thing. LILA FELIX did something that NO AUTHOR has done. Her epilogue is the best ever!!!! Every author will be copying her!!! Excellent job!!

Not so great about the book: There is nothing wrong with this book! Bring on the next one Lila!!

TOUR SCHEDULE:

INTERVIEW WITH FALCON:
First, I would like to thank Falcon for taking time out of his busy schedule to sit down for an interview!!

We all know how close you are with your family, but is there one thing that means more than anything to you when you are with your family?

I just want everyone to be themselves.  That’s what makes us work so well.  Owen is the brawn, I am the suit, Mad is the clown, Nellie is the goof (she just hit me), Reed is the anchor (she just kissed me), Mom is the mother hen and Dad is the wisdom.  And when one of us is gone, it feels off.

You are so different than your brothers, is there any real reason why?  Or is just who you have always been?

Because they are such punks that God decided to make one of us reasonable.

I just love Reed.  She is so sweet and kind (except in the derby), what is the one thing that you love best about her?

Her strength.  I don’t think there’s anything she couldn’t handle.

At the end of How It Rolls, there was a “cliffhanger”, what can we expect to see in the future from Reed and yourself?  Maybe marriage or kids?  All with Mohawks of course!!
There will be tons of all of us in the third book.  Reed has a pretty big part of the third book.  She’s all buddy buddy with Mad now.  And Nixon too, he’s a trip.

After you are done with college, is there a particular job that you really want?  Besides what you all ready do for the family.

Nah, I like working for my family.  I just wanna finish college so I can be all certified and shit.

Ok, a serious question, how hard was it for you to cut down the Mohawk and will we see it make an appearance in later books?

Oh, the Mohawk.  I kinda like it short now.  And I don’t have to put all that gunk in it, that’s a plus.  And—um—Reed likes it shorter.

Again, thank you Lila Felix for a great book, for Mandy from I Read Indie for hosting a great tour  and for Falcon for sitting down for an interview.

Mary's Review

Ok, I am going to tell you all a story.  No, I am not an author but this book has a little bit of special feeling for me.

Several weeks ago, Lila Felix sent me a Facebook message and told she was putting up a blog post.  Well, I got excited because I though "New Book" or "Giveaway" or something exciting.  Well, let me tell you that my heart stopped......YES ACTUALLY STOPPED when I saw this:

You can click on it and read the article.

I teared up and thought "OMG! What did I do?".  I love Lila, very much actually.  She has because a dear friend and I could not figure what I did.  Well, after I read the article and figured out the issue, I signed a breathe of relief! See when I reviewed Lila's book Hoax I stated her books were too short.  I never meant for it to be rude or hurtful but Lila actually took my advice (*insert fan girl scream*) and How It Rolls is 252 pages!! YES!!

Now onto the review:

Best part of the book: WOW! Just ... WOW! I have loved everyone of Lila's book.  Emerge is my favorite, until this one.  How It Rolls is a spin off of Love & Skate, this is actually Falcon's story.  I loved Falcon because he is not what he seems.  He has a mohawk, tattoos and piercings...bet you are thinking "rock band"...WRONG! He is in college and has a way with numbers and money! Faclon's path soon crosses with Reed.  Oh Reed *sniff* I wanted to reach through my Kindle and just hug her.  She has had such a tough life and Falcon cannot seem to get enough of her.  Along with their story we get an extended story of Nellie and Owen.  Of course, Lila through in some twist that made me *gasp* *cry* and *yell* and I loved every word.

Not so great about the book:  Ugh, the ending!  I wanted more! I could not get enough of this story!  Luckily, Lila is doing another spin off for Maddox's story and I hoping that there is more Falcon and Reed in it.  AND  since this one was 252 pages, maybe I could get 275 or even 300!

Have to wait and see!
