Mary's Review:

I have loved this series since day 1!! Jennifer didn't disappoint with book 4!

In Book 3 we were left with a HUGE HUGE HUGE cliffhanger and Origin picked up right there. Katy wasn't doing well, but don't worry Daemon will save the day!!!! 

But, there are bigger troubles on the horizon...BIG BIG BIG ONES!!! Now no one knows who to trust and not too! It's a all out world!

BUT, there are a couple romantic moments with Katy and Daemon and a HUGE surprise that I DIDN'T SEE COMING!!!! 

All I can see is ......... bring on book 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to tell you that the moment I met Daemon it was love at first sight, um.......no. I drooled, sighed & lusted, but no love. I was however, sucked into Jennifer's witty & expensive writing from the first sentence. The first time we meet Daemon, he answers the door to Katy. Did I mention he answers the door only wearing jeans?? Yeah, his messy black hair falling into his emerald green eyes *sigh*.  Sexy right??? Daemon shatters this masterpiece by opening his mouth! Yes he's just another arrogant loudmouth jerk with a sexy body. Katy tries to avoid Daemon as much as possible. He however, makes this all but impossible when Katy becomes best friends with his sister Dee. Daemon tries hard to make the girl's new found friendship difficult. He never misses an opportunity to tell Katy that she & Dee should not be friends.

Then one day Daemon's rough exterior cracks & he asks Katy to go swimming with him. Yes you read that correctly ladies.....a date, a date with Daemon in very little clothing!!! Katy is able to slightly crack Daemon open & discover that unbearable attitude is just his way of keeping people at arms length & protecting Dee from devastating issues in their past. He also has a huge secret he must keep or it can put himself & Dee in grave danger. From this point forward, Daemon shows Katy tiny but rewarding glimpses at the "real" Daemon. He even saves Katy from an aggressive date.

By the time Katy took a deep breath & realized she was in love with Daemon, so was I!!! I couldn't believe it!!! All those little glimpses of him, added up to the sensitive, protective & endearing Daemon. Now Katy (& myself) were both in love with Daemon, not because of how he looked but WHO he truly is as a person. Then what happens when they kiss, wow I mean wow!!  Let's just say its electrifying!!!

MARY'S REVIEW:

I know that this is just Book #3 of the series but this is the best BY FAR!!!  Jennifer L. Armentrout knows how to rip out a Book Nerds Heart at the end of this book!! Talk about a cliffhanger!!

Best Part of the Book:  Daemon Black, you sexy alien, you!!!!!!  I think I love him more in this book that the other 2!!!  He is so sweet, caring and deadly all in one!!! That is a Book Nerds dream fictional boyfriend!!  Jennifer L. Armentrout has wrote the perfect fictional boyfriend!!

But I digress, at the end of Book 2 we had death, unanswered question and a serious connection between Daemon and Kitten ... uumm ... I mean Katy!!  This book leaves every reader wanting more!  Though some question were "answered" it left more questions too!  Just like I said before, Jennifer L. Armentrout knows how to leave a Book Nerd hanging!!  But, that is why she is so good as an author!!

However, there are some REALLY REALLY good scenes between Daemon and Katy!! I love that Daemon and Katy are becoming so much closer!

On top of that I enjoyed Dawson.  Since he was not really in the first 2 books, we get to see more of him in this one.  Although, there are a lot of issues with him he still can steal a scene when needed!  His obsession with ghosts also cracks me up!

Not so great about book:  I REALLY dislike Blake!  I cannot wait until someone zaps him!  I do love that Daemon calls him Biff, Brad and every other name in the book but Blake!  It cracks me up!

I also did not the cliffhanger!  Boo-hoo!  I was crying by the last sentence! Oh it killed me!!

I was involved in a discussion with some Twitter friends last night about Jennifer L. Armentrout's amazing book Onyx, when something was brought to me attention.

There is a scene in the book when Daemon gives Katy a note in their Trig class.  Sounds great; however, WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT SAYS!

I want to know and so do a lot of other people what was on that note.  Then I thought we (Lux Novel fans) could persuade Jennifer to release it.

So, I am going to start a Twitter Hashtag called #WhatDidItSay and I am hoping that you all can join in then maybe we will finally know what it said!

I am not sure if it will work but *fingers crossed* when will know soon!

Mary's Review:

OK if you remember correctly I am new to this series BUT I AM SO GLAD THAT I AM ON THE BAND WAGON!!!!!! I just read Obsidian (Lux #1) last month and loved it.  Once I was finished I wanted Book 2 SO BADLY!!  Sadly I had to wait until release day. Oh, it was worth the wait.

Best part of the book:  Need I say it again?!?!  Well, I will....DAEMON!!!! He is the best part of this book.  I guess it has something to do with the fact that he is an alien. OH and he is H-O-T!!!  However, in this book there is more to Daemon that we did not see in the last book.  He is a little bit more direct about his feelings towards to Katy (aka Kitten).  We see just how far he will go to protect his family and those he loves.  Another part that I love about this book (that made me laugh a lot) was that Daemon would not call Blake by his name.  He would call him Brad, Brian etc etc.

Not so great about the book:  The only that turns me off from this book is when Katy knows that she is so in love with Daemon but never says it.  I just want to reach through my Kindle and shake her!  But I guess I can understand why she was doing it but it was making me upset! Also, the ending of the book is a huge cliffhanger and that is one thing that I do not like (well, I like it but it frustrates me)

Why read this book:  2 words....HOT....ALIEN.  That is why you should read this book, (HAHA)  Seriously though, this book contains a lot of twist and turns that I did not even see.  I like that Jennifer keeps us on the edge!


Bonus:  There is a scene in the book which I am calling the "Cookie Scene".  Jennifer release a small video of it with Daemon.  I am not responsible for anyone if they pass out from watching this video.  Watch at your own risk!

There is a little bit of a back story to how I came across this book.  I met Jennifer Armentrout through her Twitter account and I did not realize that she was an author.  I thought she was just another West Virginia blogger, like me *hangs head*. Then after a conversation I realized, "OOPPS!  She is an author!"  Then I found out that she was going to be at the RT Convention in Chicago.  It was there that I (finally) met her in person and she was so kind and sweet.  However, I still had not read any of her books.  (Yes, I am a bad Book Nerd) .  

However, I finally found time to read one and I am a fool that I did not read it sooner!  Talk about amazing! Now, I love supernatural boys and Daemon is definitely on that list!

Katy (or Kitten, which Daemon calls her) just moved to West Virginia and Daemon and his twin sister, Dee live next door.  Daemon and Katy DO NOT get along but Katy becomes close friends with Dee.  Daemon does not like this at all but eventually tells Katy the truth.  They are aliens! Katy seems to handle it well.  The problem is the Arum (bad guys) and they want Daemon and Dee's abilities. It just seems like Katy seems to be the weakness. 


There are some awesome twist and turns in this book.  I cannot wait for book 2, Onyx, that comes out in August 2012.
