BLOG TOUR: Into the Fae by Quinn Loftis

Into the Fae (The Gypsy Healer Series, Book 1)
By Quinn Loftis

Blurb:

With peace finally descending on the Romanian Grey Wolves, longtime fae ambassador to the wolves, Perizada, has been given a new mission by the Great Luna. But Peri’s desire for revenge against her sister, Lorelle, burns in her heart. Further complicating matters, the great white wolf, Lucian Lupei, has been returned to the pack after centuries trapped in the Dark Forest, and it appears he is destined to be with Peri. Can she put aside her thoughts of vengeance long enough to accept Lucian’s love and complete her mission?

My Review:

Okay I'm not going to lie, I was nervous when I started this book. See, I have loved Quinn since the day Blood Rites (Book #2 of Grey Wolves Series) and this isn't the Grey Wolves. So, yes, I was biting my nails when I started the first page

Well, Quinn needs to kick my shin, hard, for doubting her!! How could I be so dumb?

Peri, the fairy (hehe! love that still) has been mated with Lucian (oh, wow!) but she's a bit stubborn (just a little). Oh, and let's not forget her crazy sister Peri was to seek revenge on.

Once, the Great Luna give Peri her new task, find the Healers. Wow, all the new characters that were introduced are just ... WOW!! Amazing!

This is a bit darker than the GWS, but ... but .. our favorite characters do make an appearance. AND YES SO DOES DECEBEL!! (I know Quinn did that just for me!)

Anyway, read this! You won't be disappointed!

BLOG TOUR: Rapture (Elfin Series Book 2) by Quinn Loftis

Rapture (Elfin Series Book 2)

By Quinn Loftis

Synopsis

Triktapic, the deadly dark elf assassin, has been restored by the Forest Lords to his rightful place as king of the Elven realm. Now, he must face his former comrades as he attempts to stop Lorsan, king of the dark elves, from enslaving the human race. Lorsan has already begun distributing Rapture, the irresistible drink that destroys those who unknowingly become addicted to it. Will Cassie, his Chosen, be able to give Trik the strength he needs to face his dark past?

Meanwhile, Cassie’s best friend, Elora, is in a fight for her own life. Elora, her mother, Lisa, and a small band of light elves have traveled deep into the dark elf realm in hopes of rescuing Cassie and Trik. But their mission quickly turns into a battle for their own lives as they are surrounded by Lorsan and his warriors. Though outnumbered ten to one, the humans and elves fight heroically. They fight for a King once lost, but now found. They fight for the human realm that doesn’t yet know it is in need of saving. They fight for love; a love that has already been discovered and a love that is waiting to be revealed. Despite their valiant efforts, the band is captured and held captive by the dark elf king.

The peaceful world that Cassie and Elora knew is long gone, shattered by their realization that elves walk secretly among them, and are bent on their destruction. Soon, each of the girls will be forced to choose her own path. Cassie must decide to which world she belongs and Elora must decide if she will fight for a warrior hell bent on keeping her from his side.

Two species, human and elf, stand on the precipice of war, united in one goal; shatter the dark elf king’s plan, and unite a divided race under the rule of the one true King.

My Review

Oh Quinn Loftis.....how I love thee?

What I liked: It's no secret that I'm the biggest fan of Quinn's Grey Wolves Series. I mean, I'm still in love with Decebel!!! HOWEVER, I am pretty sure I'm in love with Elfin series just as much.

Trik and Cassie are two characters that stick in your mind long after you finish the book! I love, love Elves!! The twist and turns of Trik's and Cassie journey is page-turning!!

Now, Quinn didn't leave out the 'additional' characters. I enjoy when she pulls focus to (what some consider secondary characters) the friends and family of Trik and Cassies, especially Elora and CUSH!!! (swoon)

What I didn't like: There was nothing that I didn't like; I wish it was a tad longer. It was a faced pace book!!!!!

BLOG TOUR: Sacrifice of Love by Quinn Loftis

About the Book:
As one evil falls, another rises in its place.  The powerful witch, Desdemona, has finally been killed by an alliance of wolf, elf, and fae. But Reyaz, brother to Cypher the warlock king, has vowed retribution for a life that was taken from him. Now Cypher must decide not only how to protect his newfound mate and his people, but also how to destroy the only family he has left.

Meanwhile, Jen’s pregnancy progresses and the fateful due date draws ever nearer. The thought of losing Decebel’s child constantly threatens to overwhelm her. With each passing day, Decebel grows more distant, causing Jen to wonder what toll the impending loss of their child is taking on him. Unbeknownst to Jen, in an act of desperation to protect his unborn child and mate, Decebel strikes a deadly bargain with the Great Luna—his life in place of his child’s. There is only one way for that to happen; the bond between he and Jen must be broken.

As Jen as Decebel struggle through their darkness, another kind of darkness is infiltrating Fane’s heart. Doubts and questions linger as he tries to cope with the emotions brought on in the aftermath of Desdemona’s curse. He knows what happened wasn’t real, but still he can’t rid himself of the terrible images seared into his memory. Jacque is his light, the one who keeps the darkness at bay, yet he won’t let her inside to do just that.

Sally continues to learn what it means to be a gypsy healer and Costin struggles to protect her as she runs full speed ahead to help her wolves, heedless of her own safety. She sees her best friends struggling, each enduring their own trials. She’s desperate to help them, but can she keep them safe?

With all of these things hanging heavy over the heads of the Serbia and Romania packs, their attention is divided. The wolves do not even realize a threat has slowly infiltrated their midst. Will they recognize the threat in time to save the lives that precariously hang in the balance?

Against this backdrop of darkness, choices will be made, fears will confronted, and the ultimate sacrifice will be made.  Will the wolves stand together to defeat the threats arrayed against them, both from within and without? Will love conquer all? Or will the beleaguered wolves finally succumb to their demons?

My Review:

Since I don't want to spoil anyone my review will be in the form of a open letter to the greatest author, Quinn Loftis!

Dear Quinn

I would like to tell you a story…

Long long ago in the land of Amazon Kindle New release I found a book called Blood Rites that was just released. Since I love paranormal and it sounded interested I thought “Why Not?”. It was then I realized it was a book #2. I even got more excited since it was a series. So I purchased it and got book #1.

In one day I read both books. I instantly fell in love with every single character. But, one stood out to me in book 1 and 2 … My Decebel … there is no other and he is FOREVER MINE!! With each turn of the page I was more entranced with this world that Quinn created. I laughed, cried, yelled and may have slipped a cuss out at certain scenes. But, I couldn’t stop reading … I needed more

When I finished it, I found out that Quinn had a Twitter and I began to stalk her. Her kindness was laced with every tweet to her fans and her humor is unmatched. I fell deeply in love with her and needed more of her books.

With each part of the series I fell deeper in love with these amazing characters … and yes, Decebel is real in my Book Nerds heart. !!! I crave the next book, the moment I’m done with the newest book in the series.

Since that time, in the land of Amazon Kindle New Release, I have followed Quinn (Yep, I stalked her like a crazy Book Nerds that I am) and hung on every word of hers and counted down to every single release day. Each book is better and better. Quinn’s talent can’t be matched! It can’t there is no way I can even put it into words.

Now we have come to the end of the series, Sacrifice of Love….its the end… I can’t tell you how many tears I shed through this book or how many times I laughed. The characters, all of them, are the greatest in print. I say that whole heartily. They are….I have watched these main six grow into an amazing set of people. You can laugh if you want; they are real to my Book Nerd heart.

So, thank you Quinn…..Thank you for taking the leap and writing one of the greatest series that has ever graced my Book Nerds heart. Thank you for my Decebel, who I love more than the stars in the sky !!!! Thank you for Jen…and the laughs she brings me. Thank you Jaque and Fane, Sally and Costin who are the perfect mix of characters!!!

And .. thank you Quinn .. for being an amazing person

Now where is book 2 of Elfin *wink*

Excerpt 1
Decebel watched as his mate walked to the pack jet, her shoulders pulled back proudly, and her head held high. She wouldn’t cower, not his woman. No matter how her heart ached, she wouldn’t allow the outside world to know it. His hands clenched into fists at his side and the swirl of fear and regret churned in his gut. He should just let her go. There was no need to draw this out, but the further she got from him, the more desperate his wolf fought to be free, to run to their mate. To hell with it, he thought as he walked quickly to her.
“Jennifer,” his voice was rough with emotion and he knew that his eyes were glowing. She whipped around, surprised by him. He took advantage of catching her unaware and grabbed her face, pulling her to him. Her mouth parted instinctively as his tongue pushed in. Her flavor flooded his taste buds and he savored it swallowing her down and reveling in the response she gave him. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she pulled him closer. He held her for a few seconds longer before finally pulling away and stepping back.
“I love you and I am still the man who claimed you. Never doubt that again.” Before she could respond he turned and walked away.
Jen looked over at Cynthia who looked as shocked as she felt.
“If anything, he’s still as bossy as ever,” Cynthia told her.
Jen grinned and they started towards the plane again, “And too sexy for his own good. If he were ugly I totally wouldn’t put up with it.”

Excerpt 2
“I hate to break into this obviously shocking moment, but could you please share with us what you know so that we can properly freak out?” Jen asked matter-of-fact like.
“It’s not something that is talked about, ever,” Elle told her.
“Well circumstances have changed, so I think it’s time to start talking about the fae’s dirty little secret.”
“I think we better all sit down for this,” Alina told the group.
“Crap,” Jacque murmured, “it’s never a good sign when they tell us we need to sit down.”
“Have to agree with you there wolf-princess. It usually means they’re about to drop a new supernatural creature in our laps and I swear if it’s a sparkling vampire then I’m going to push someone off the ledge of ridiculousness we are all perched on like morons,” Jen huffed as she sat on the ground, attempting at gracefulness, but failing miserably because of her swollen belly.
“Is it a giant centipede that releases slimy secretions as it crushes everything around it?” Sally asked.
The group collectively turned and looked at the healer with furrowed foreheads and raised eyebrows.
“What?” she mumbled. “It could happen.”

BLOG TOUR: Call Me Crazy by Quinn Loftis REVIEW AND INTERVIEW

Call Me Crazy

by Quinn Loftis

Synopsis
“I’m looking out from inside the chaos. It must be a one-way mirror because no one seems to be able to see back inside to where I am. The looks on their faces, the judgment in their eyes, tells me everything I need to know. The most frustrating part about the whole messed up situation is that even though I’m the one that they stare at in shock, I am just as shocked as they are. I know no more than they do of why I lose control. What they don’t know is that I am more scared of myself than they could ever be.” ~ Tally Baker

After a devastating turn of events, seventeen year old Tally Baker is admitted to Mercy Psychiatric Facility where she is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. She has come to a place where she honestly believes that her life is over. Her mind tells her that she will never smile or laugh again, that she will never be normal again. It is in this unlikely place that she meets two people, different in every way, yet both critical to helping her realize that she has so much more living to do.
Candy, a cantankerous sixty year old Mercy Psychiatric patient, is hell bent on driving everyone as crazy as she is. Candy shows Tally that, regardless of her diagnosis, the ability to push on and live her life to the fullest is her choice and hers alone. In the midst of Tally’s oftentimes humorous, sometimes heart-wrenching, escapades with Candy, a new patient is admitted to Mercy—a Native American woman named Lolotea. Along with this new patient comes a daily visitor, her son, Trey Swift. At first glance, it is obvious to Tally that he is incredibly handsome and unbelievably caring. But what she learns through her second glance, and many thereafter, is that there is much more to Trey than he ever lets on. It is during these daily visits that Trey and Tally build a friendship far deeper than either of them truly realize. With Trey, Tally feels for the first time since being admitted that someone is looking at her as a person and not as a disease. Trey begins to make it clear that he wants more than friendship, but she knows that she can never give him more. How can she, when she won’t even give him the truth?  Tally doesn’t tell Trey that she is a patient at Mercy, and she doesn’t ever plan to. Her plans go up in flames when she finds out that Trey is a new student at her school, the school where her brokenness was found out in the floor of the girl’s bathroom in a pool of her own blood.

Call Me Crazy Trailer

Excerpt 1
“Crap Candy,” I growl at my snickering companion as I rub my side and glare at her. “What was that for?”
“A better question would be why were you hunkered down under the table drooling over Kemosabe?”
I frown at her. “That’s tacky don’t you think?”
“I’m sixty years old and crazy; I can do tacky if I want,” she snorts at me.
I can’t really argue with her there. Like pregnant women, old, crazy ladies pretty much get a free pass on crassness and eccentricity.
“So come on,” she pats the chair that I had so quickly vacated, “tell Candy all about it.”
I roll my eyes. “He just took me off guard, that’s all,” I lie smoothly.
Candy isn’t buying it. “He was hot, just admit it. Hot and he got you bothered.”
I cringe. “Candy, you calling a guy young enough to be your grandson hot is just not right.”
“Psht,” she flips her hand at me. “I’m old, not blind or dead. Besides, I didn’t say I wanted to jump his exotic bones.”
I groan as I bang my head against the table. “Where do you learn these terms? I mean it’s not normal for someone your age to blurt out crap like that.”
“Did you just use the term normal in a sentence describing me?” She raises her brow surprisingly at me.
I laugh. “Good point.”

Excerpt 2

“I may be in a mental hospital, but I am not dense. So please, un-complicate it for me.”
This was not my plan for tonight and I fight the urge to stomp my foot and tell her how I was supposed to be curled up in a ball on my bed freaking out. But I won’t say that, not to Trey’s mother.
“I have bipolar disorder. Everyone knows it: my parents, my friends, the entire freaking school. The fact that I am in a mental hospital is the gossip of the century. People whisper around me and refuse to look me in the eyes, like at any second I’ll snap and start screaming that the voices won’t shut up.” I’m crying again and it pisses me off. I wipe my eyes, frantically trying to clear them, to remove the evidence of how badly all of it has hurt me, is still hurting me.
“Trey treated you normally.” Her voice is softer, gentler, and when I look at her through the wetness in my eyes, I see understanding in them, not the condemnation from minutes ago. “He saw you, not the disease.”
My knees shake with the effort to hold my body up and I reach to the wall for support.
“He loves you.”

Author Interview

Quinn, this not your typical book, why this book and this topic?
I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder (BD) when I was 21, after 3 years of being miss diagnosed with depression. It was 3 years of hell, and a hell that only I lived in because no one else could see what was reality to me. I guess I just wanted people to get to see into the mind of a person with mental health issues and to show them that they are still people. They aren't to be feared, but to be loved and though there will be times you can't understand what they are doing or thinking just remember that it's the disease not the person and they need you to remind them that they will get through it, they will make it.

How did you come up with the characters and their personalities?
Tally was a slight representation of myself, though not identical. I wanted her to be strong, but able to show weakness and fear. Candy, oh sweet Candy, I needed Tally to have someone who would help her cope but in an unconventional way. Tally needed laughter in her life, she needed to know that it was okay to laugh at herself and she needed someone older and wiser but able to understand where Tally was mentally. As for Trey, I decided to make him Native American because I felt like having that rich culture as his background would be unique. I needed him to have strong family values and commitment, to be a leader and from what I read about Native American tribes, they instill those qualities in their boys as they grow into men. I didn't want him to be perfect, hence the sometimes temper and possessiveness, but I wanted him to love her through her crap. I'm married to an amazing man who has loved me through miles of crap and continues to love me.

This is an odd question, but there are a lot of emotions in this book with Tally, Trey, and other characters. Was it hard for you to write certain scenes?
This book has been the hardest thing I have ever written in my life. I actually became very depressed while writing it and had to have my psychiatrist adjust my meds. Yes, I said my psychiatrist LOL, it is what it is. I cried a lot, and wrote at night a lot when every one else was a sleep. I didn't want my little boy walking into my office while I was bawling my eyes out and typing away on the lap top.

You know I love Decebel, your Grey Wolves Series and Elfin series. Do you have another more books like, Call Me Crazy (or something similar) planned in your future?
At this moment I don't have any contemporary books planned right now. I'm focusing on Book 7 of the GWS and book 2 of Elfin.

Do you think that you have grown, as an author, with this book? In my opinion I think you get better and better with each book.
I def feel like I have grown. I feel like I understand a lot more about the writing process. I find myself really excited about the story and characters. ;(:

Review

If you have seen my reviews of Quinn's then you know I adore her. I have to say that when she announced this book, I was a little scared. I admit it, I was. There are no wolves, no elfs, and NO DECEBEL.

But, I kept an open mind when I received the book. Quinn is pure talent and I knew I shouldn't worry.

I read this book in one sitting. I laughed, I cried, and above all, I couldn't stop reading. Quinn opened up a whole new world to me. It was a world that I knew nothing about and I was completely enlightened.

Tally is such a strong character in this book. She was diagnosed with  BiPolar Disorder and then admitted into a Psych Hospital. It is there that we are introduced to Trey. He is not a patient, but through his visits him and Tally build a friendship.

Okay, I can't really go into the details of everything because I would really hate to spoil this book, but please read this. Quinn Loftis has created a masterpiece. !!!!!! I should have never doubted her.
