ALWAYS (Open Hearts Chronicles) Novella by Amity Hope

Amity Hope ALWAYS
Blurb...
~Always is a companion novella to Ditched.
Now that Holly and Max are finally together, life in Harmony Bay should be nearly perfect. Their first Valentine’s Day together is quickly approaching. Between school, interfering family, and long lost friends that have reappeared it has the potential to turn into a complete disaster.
Or it could turn into the kind of night that neither of them will ever forget.
Character Interview with Max and Holly:

*What was your first impression of one another?
Max: The first time I saw Holly I was a sophomore in high school. I’d just moved to Chamberlain. She was in my Phys Ed class. We were doing physical fitness testing. She absolutely refused to climb the rope. She told the teacher it was too dangerous to be that far off the ground. I laughed about it all day. I didn’t realize until later that she was serious. She has a few phobias.
Holly: Thanks for sharing that. But wow, okay. That seems like such a long time ago. I guess what I remember noticing is his size. He’s a big guy. And he’s always smiling. He’s got a great smile.
*Most romantic gesture you've done for each other?
Holly: There’s no way I can narrow it down to just one. But this bracelet I always wear, the one with all the charms? Each one represents a gesture. This bracelet is getting pretty full.
Max: Easy question. She moved halfway across the country so we could be together.
*Favorite qualities about one another?
Holly: I love that Max is always willing to help other people out. Friends, family, strangers, it doesn’t matter. He’s just the kind of person that’s always looking out for everyone else. That’s kind of rare.
Max: We were friends for years before we started dating. I can honestly say she’s one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met.
*Let's be honest now...most annoying trait about each other?
Holly: It’s not exactly bad but he does have a hard time telling people no. So sometimes he takes on too much.
Max: Then I guess we’re kind of alike that way. She worries too much about what other people think. Especially her parents. She’s getting better about that. I think she’s finally realized you can’t live your life trying to please everyone around you.
*Do you have pet names? If so what are they?
Holly: Nope.
Max: I’ve tried out a few. Snookums, honey bunny, sugar pie, baby cakes—
Holly: That’s precisely why we avoid pet names. Although I suppose if I’m going to be honest I should admit that sometimes I do call him my snuggle bear.
Max: It’s true. She does. I didn’t think she was going to admit it.
*Ideal Valentine's Day date and/or gift?
Max: I’d prefer somewhere quiet, for sure. As for a gift, I know neither of us cares about the cost. It’s more about finding something that shows just how well you know the other person.

Holly: It’s a cliché, I know, but as long as I’m with Max…I’m happy.

RELEASE DAY BLAST: Open Hearts Chronicles: A YA Valentine's Day Novella Collection

FINDING ME AGAIN by Amber Garza:

I know most people don’t find the love of their life at sixteen. But I did. At least that’s what I thought when I fell in love with Tripp Bauer. That’s why it was so hard when we drifted apart after high school graduation.
But I’ve never stopped loving him.
On a trip back to our hometown, I run into Tripp and the spark between us is undeniable.
Is it possible for us to find our way together again? Will I really get the happily ever after I’ve longed for?
Don’t miss the stunning conclusion to Tripp and Hadley’s story!
CONSEQUENCES by Shelly Crane:

Maggie and Caleb are married, leaders of their people, parents to their children, and happier than they ever dreamed, even with the visions they saw of it to prove it so. The council is still rebelling against Maggie’s changes, but this time it’s different. It’s almost as if something…or someone is behind them, pulling the strings and making decisions for them.
And Maggie is having strange visions that only she can see, leaving Caleb helpless to help her. But when her visions start to warn her that their daughter, Ava, will one day be in danger, they’ll do anything it takes to find out what’s going on and how to stop it, even paying a visit to a previous Visionary.
Maggie and Caleb must find out who or what is behind it all and stop them before Maggie is one vision too late.
HEART BREAKER by Lila Felix:

Breaker James isn’t the boy who is imprisoned in his home anymore. He’s not the guy who is afraid to leave the house. He doesn’t need Ash twenty four hours a day anymore.
Hell, he might not need her anymore at all.
He’s a heart breaker, pure and simple.
Love is easy when you’re secluded from the world within four walls.
Ash now has to learn how to let Breaker love her—without being his crutch.
ALWAYS by Amity Hope:

~Always is a companion novella to Ditched.
Now that Holly and Max are finally together, life in Harmony Bay should be nearly perfect. Their first Valentine’s Day together is quickly approaching. Between school, interfering family, and long lost friends that have reappeared it has the potential to turn into a complete disaster.
Or it could turn into the kind of night that neither of them will ever forget.
BREATHLESS MAGIC by Rachel Higginson:

And they lived happily ever after…
Or that was supposed to be how the story ended. Unfortunately for Eden Kendrick, a new enemy threatens her beloved Kingdom, one more dangerous and deadly than ever before.
After enjoying a deliciously elongated honeymoon, Eden returns to the Citadel with her husband and happiness intact. She’s unexpectedly pregnant, but that’s just one more blessing to add to her blooming happiness.
Eden’s heart is full and her endless life has never been more happy. That is until Dmitri Terletov returns from the dead and threatens everyone she loves and the Kingdom she worked so hard to build.
This time around, Eden is supposed to be shielded from the conflict. She has her growing babies to protect now and Kiran wants her as far from the battle as possible. Although she’s a little stir-crazy with idle hands, she agrees that keeping away from Terletov and his deadly experiments is definitely the right course of action.
Unfortunately, Terletov doesn’t agree. And when he arrives at the Castle, uninvited and desperate for the Magic Eden once stole from him, she has no choice but to fight once again to save the people she was born to protect.
DERIVE by Jamie Magee:

Aden, son of Tarek, is a seer—an elite member of The Selected which stands guard before The Fall, the border between light and dark realities. Darkness was foretold at his birth along with the words ‘lavender waters will set you free.’ What Aden assumed to be a mythical prophecy, is eventually manifested in a ravishing beauty with long, lavender hair.

Skylynn had seen their future, the sacrifice and divide set before them. She told him they had three days—three days before they must part to meet in a distant future. Aden dares to challenge the limits set before him by empowering his innocent lover with words and energy as he plots to face the darkness predicted before it claims her—and their rightful future together.

BOOK REVIEW: Truths and Dares (Truths and Dares #1) by Amity Hope

Goodreads Description:

Book 1 of 2
Secrets and Lies will be available early 2014

~*~*~Young Adult Romance~*~*~

Somewhere in between playing in the sandbox and starting high school, Harper Monroe fell in love with her best friend. Seth Ryerson was the boy who lived next door. He was the boy who dared to give her her first kiss. He was the boy she cried over when her mother decided to uproot her from her hometown. He’s also the boy with a secret.

When Seth finds out that Harper is coming back to town halfway through their senior year, he hates that he can’t be happy about it. Because Harper is the one person who knows the truth. And as far as Seth is concerned, the truth really doesn’t set you free.

MARY'S REVIEW:

On occasion, I go over to Goodreads and look at all the books I have read over the years. When I was getting ready to start this review, like always, I go to Goodreads to get the information I need for the post. Well, I got to looking at the previous books of Amity's that I had read (BTW, it's all of them). My first review, was all the way back in the early fall of 2012.

So, I want to take this second to thank Amity....

Thank you for being such an amazing author that you have kept me wanting more of your book for (close to) two years!! Your talent is something I don't think I could put into words!! Thank you!!

With that being said ...

Let's talk about the new Amity Hope book!!

What I liked: Amity Hope has a a great writing style. It never too descriptive that I know ever single color of the walls in the room, but it's enough to know that when there is pain and/or hurt, I want to cry! This story is much different than others, Harper and Seth. They are the best of friends growing up, and the each (truly) love each other.

Seth....oh, Seth....I instantly fell in love with him, and as you read on his story becomes...well, he changes a bit. See, Harper moves away, and Seth is really torn up about it. And I want to tell you everything, but I'm not going to spoil it for you. HOWEVER, I will say this....keep reading!!!

The hold/pull/life line that those two have on each other, is truly a beautiful story. It's not ALL kissy, kissy, mushy, mushy..that you just want to gag from it! Amity is too amazing for that!  So, don't think that going into this story. Through some of it I forgot they were teenagers!

What I didn't like: As much as I love Amity, I think she might have been close to a deadline. Because the last couple chapters, I felt to be a little face-paced. NOW, I don't know if she meant to do that BECAUSE we are left with a cliffhanger, so it may have been intentional. But, that is the only true dislike I had with it!!

I would RECOMMEND this BIG TIME!!

BOOK REVIEW: Fighting Fate by Amity Hope

Goodreads description:

Two years ago, Sarah Heath’s life was close to perfect. Now, she’s running from her old life. Not sure where else to go, she decides to move back to Laurel, where she plans to renovate the farmhouse her grandmother left her. She has a new job and is looking forward to a new start in life. The last thing she expects is to bump into her old high school flame.

Cole Montgomery knows what it’s like to run from something. Due to an unfortunate case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he felt he had no choice other than to leave Laurel and the girl he loved right after high school graduation. But now it’s eight years later and he’s back. And by some strange twist of fate, she’s back too.

Cole is determined to right his wrongs. Even if it means finally telling Sarah the real reason he broke her heart. He needs her to know that he only wanted to keep her safe then as well as now. Because the truth is, he’s still worried his past will come back to haunt them both. What he doesn’t know is that Sarah’s past haunts her too. Winning her back might be the easy part. It’s keeping her safe that might be a challenge.

Mary's Review:

I swear Amity Hope just gets better with each book she writes.

What I liked:

I love the story that Amity created. It's not just a romance, there is some suspense to it too! Sarah comes back to her hometown to a new job and a HUGE project of redoing a farmhouse.  She seems happy ... until she sees Cole!

Oh Cole!!!! *swoon* I have a new fictional boyfriend on my list!!! Cole is amazing but is trying to fix some things that happened in his past. Sarah is one of those.

Now, on top of all that, there are some "issues" going on below the surface. Someone is out to hurt them. Oh yeah, sabotage! I love how Amity pulls it all together!

What I didn't like:

A few things were rushed. Well, they seemed rushed to me. But, it didn't take away from the story, I just wished it was a little more detailed for a few things.

Overall..........GREAT!!! READ!!

BOOK REVIEW: Ditched by Amity Hope

Goodreads description:

~*~*~ Young Adult Romance ~*~*~
Holly has her whole life mapped out. It’s simple, really. She just needs to finish her degree in journalism, marry Collin—her high school sweetheart—and live happily ever after.

Max has had a crush on his friend Holly since he moved to town four years ago. He’s been dreading her wedding since she first sent him a text telling him the news. He's dreading it so much, in fact, that he's decided to move back to his hometown in California immediately following the ceremony.

He never thought that a change of plan would include taking Holly with him, showing her that sometimes the happily ever after you really want, is the one you never knew you were looking for.

Mary's Review:

I just need to get this statement out of the way:

AMITY HOPE I HEART YOU BIG TIME!!!

I have yet to read a book of Amity's that I don't gush over. This one is no different!

5.0 stars out of 5.0 stars

This was just a great book.  Holly and Collin have known each other forever and have been dating just as long. They were getting married very soon. She was going to get the happily ever after and her life was going to be perfect. Max was good friends with Holly and he was heading back to his hometown in California. He was trying to forget about the love he had for her.

Yep, that did not happen, at all! Actually, the opposite happened. Holly left Collin at the alter and ran off with Max to California. Holly's whole life has change in a matter of time. Holly is really unsure of what to do because all she knows is Collin and her parents.

Thankfully Max is there to help her learn that she is not just what her parents say she is. She grows while in California; however, she is not the brightest light bulb when it comes to the "hints" that Max is throwing out to her.

I just love Max. He is a great guy and truly cares about Holly.  He is there for her whenever she needs him. Though, to me, it seems like she take advantage of him sometimes. Let me explain, he is there every, single time she needs him, but she doesn't catch any of his hints on his feelings to her.

This is a really good love story and I would recommend it!!
