BLOG TOUR: Delta Project: Revolt (Book 3) by Jessica Jaster

About the book:

D005 has been a part of a secret government program known as the Delta Project her entire life. She has been genetically modified to be stronger, faster, smarter and to heal faster. Trained in hand-to-hand combat, weaponry and battle tactics, she has been worked to physical and mental exhaustion every day of her life. Raised without love or care of any kind, she has no idea what it means to be happy – to be free. And now she has run away.

After willingly leaving the Hartman Ranch and Cormac, in order to protect those she loves, Weston is back at the Delta Project compound. Back exactly where she does not want to be. On the plus side, it's not a bad place to be if she wants to free the rest of the Deltas.

However, it also means she's under Commander's thumb again. And he has questions he is willing to go to great lengths to get answered.

The thing that Commander doesn't understand is just how much Weston wants her freedom back. And with her back at the compound, he's going to have a fight on his hands.

About the Author:

Jessica Jaster lives in Iowa with her husband and her (currently) one year old and two year old, as well as their cat, Pandora.

Jessica graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Anthropology.  Yes, she realizes that there is a big difference between Anthropology and writing young adult novels.  She actually tried for an English major (well actually, it was Criminal Justice, then English, then Anthropology), but the classes she had to take just did not fly with her.  Although, since Anthropology is pretty much just the study of humans and human culture, it could tie in with her novels in some way.

She has always had an over-active imagination and has been making stories up in her head for herself for as long as she can remember and finally decided to start writing them down (when she is not busy chasing the two little ones around anyway) and sharing them with anyone interested. Most ideas she has so far for her novels are for young adults - some fantasy, some science fiction and some normal contemporary story-lines.

Her current works include Delta Project: Hide, Delta Project: Rescue and Delta Project: Revolt.

My Review:

I have loved Jessica Jaster since she first contacted me to read Delta Project: Hide. One reason I love her ... because she is the QUEEN OF CLIFFHANGERS!

What I liked:

Book 3 picks up shortly after Book 2 ended. Weston is still with the Commander and Mac is still trying to save her.

*swoon* I love Mac!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE him !!!

Weston is still strong, but this time we see a little bit more of her venerability, while she is captured.  However, that is one strong girl! She is one of my favorite characters!

There is one part of this book that I couldn't believe happened and I LOVED IT !!!!!!!!!! I had been waiting for two books for it to happen!!! (THANK YOU JESSICA!!)

What I didn't like:

Jessica Jaster writes in a way that you truly believe that it could happen. However, there was a section of this story that wasn't believable .. however .. that is why it's fiction. It's always the reason that Mac isn't in my life for real!

Until Book 4 ... which she best be writing at this very moment!

BLOG TOUR: Delta Project: Rescue by Jessica Jaster

This is the continuing story of Weston from book 1: Delta Project: Hide.

After leaving the Hartman Ranch in order to keep her new friends out of danger, Weston embarks on a mission to save her brother and the other Deltas with the help of someone from her past. While at it, she will learn more about the Delta Project itself and what it is about the Deltas that makes them special.

During her journey, she will be put in difficult situations. Will she be able to remain the caring, fun-loving Weston she became? Or will she revert to the cold, distant D005 of her past?

And will she ever see Cormac or any of the others ever again?

MY REVIEW:

As I was reading this book, I wrote down key words that I was feeling as I was reading and I would like to share them with you.

Yes.....oh no....no no...WHAT....hurry....run...not again....YES, MAC.....please please....awesome....kiss her....don't do it Jessica, don't end the book like this......NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome, amazing and frustrating is how I sum it up!

Best part of the book: This was a roller coaster of emotions just like the first book that I loved it!  Weston has left the ranch and wants to free her brother from Delta Project, but it is a little harder to get back in.  With some help is was finally able to get in.  Now, she had to get out. Well, Jessica Jaster threw a twist in there that I did not even see coming. I won't spoil it, but read it. When her plan succeeded, she ended up back at the ranch with Mac. Ok, it was not that easy but I am giving the short version. I was so exacted to have Weston back at the ranch with Mac, but it was not all sunshine and roses.

I still love Mac and his relationship with Weston. My emotions were everywhere when those two interacted together.

Not so great: OMG! Jessica Jaster your cliffhangers are KILLING me!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday Fives: The Top 5 Authors Who Influence You

Hey, I actually came up with this weeks Friday's Five! Crazy right!?!?!?!  Usually Jacque and Teri are way better at it!!!  But, I thought about it and this just seemed like a good topic.  The problem was I have more than 5 ... so, let's see how this goes ....

1.  Shelly Crane.  This author will forever be the picture perfect author in my life.  Am I putting her above everyone else?? Oh YES I AM!!! If you read just one of her books, you can see/feel her talent, the love for her characters and overall niceness ooze onto the pages.  Shelly has become a friend of mine (and of this site), but I put her above all others because .... well, she is it!  Look it up, she is the author that authors want to be.  She writes book after book, each different and unique, and does it with class!  Recently her book, Significance, will soon be made into a movie (yes, I died when I heard that).  Overall, she is it! Period!

2. Rachel Higginson.  What?!?! You think I forgot about Rachel!!! NEVER!! Now, I can go on and on about Kiran ... I mean....Rachel's books, but I am not going to.  Anyone who has every read any of my reviews (or anything on this site) knows why Rachel is important in my life.  Yes, I joke around about Kiran (who is my fictional boyfriend from her Star Crossed Series) but the truth is Rachel has done something no author has ever done to me.  Yep, she made me love a character, hate that same character and then fall back in love with that character.  On top of that, she is the reason my Kindle is cracked in the corner.  Let's just say theses two words... HOPELESS MAGIC!  (read it and you will understand)

3.  Tiffany King.  Here is how I describe Tiffany .... HEART OF GOLD!  The woman is the sweetest, most caring and kind person I KNOW! Her book, Wishing For Someday Soon, is my autobiography (and she doesn't even know me).  I cried so much with that book that I had a headache for days!  That is true talent! And just when I thought she could not top it she wrote, Miss Me Not.  To this day I cannot describe that book because no words due it justice.  That is an author!!

4.  Lila Felix.  Lila is new in my Book Nerd life.  Even though she has several books under her belt she has done something through her books that I did not believe was possible.  She taught to see mohawks, tattoos/piercings and people who wear them in a different light.  NO I am not a person to make fun or be mean to someone who has a different appearance than mine.  However, she taught me to look pass that and she did that through her books: Love and Skate and How It Rolls.  I live in a diverse area and have recently visited some "punk-rock" bars and learn a lot about the community.  Yep, even made some new friends.  Oh, and I am getting my first tattoo next month! But, I still refuse to dye my hair!  I wouldn't look good in blue! (just saying).  That is all because of Lila!

5.  Quinn Lofits.  I cannot form words that does Quinn any justice.  So, I will say this ... DECEBEL!  That is it!  That is all needs to be said.  Well, maybe I can say a few more.  Quinn has a few qualities that make her stand out in my Book Nerd Life.  She writes the funniest character, Jennifer.  She is the QUEEN OF CLIFFHANGERS! Lastly,  her talent is endless!

So, there is only to be 5, but lets do some more:

Honorable Mentions

-   Bailey Aridsone.  This is a sister - duo writing team and they are new to the Indie community, but they  still have influenced my Book Nerd life.  Their debut novel, Sweet Oblivion, is amazing.  It is a twist of two worlds and it is perfection.  On top of that, they are the kindest ladies, EVER!  I also picked them because I how a special place in their lives.  Why, you ask?  Well, I am there #1 fan.  I was the first to read and review their book! That is an honor I treasure.

-   Tabatha Vargo.  Tabatha has a serious pallet of talent.  YA, NA, paranormal, the lady is everywhere and is perfect at it!  Above all, her love for her fans is beyond measure.  She is so sweet and it comes across on the page and through her characters.  Be sure to watch her closely, she will BE THE NEXT HOUSEHOLD NAME!

-   Jessica Jaster.  You just read that I called Quinn Loftis the QUEEN OF CLIFFHANGERS, well meet Jessica Jaster, the PRINCESS OF CLIFFHANGERS.  She does the same thing Quinn does. She pulls you in and then just puts up a brick wall.  I read her first book Delta Project: Hide and died at the ending.  So, when I got an ARC of Delta Project: Rescue I did not think she would do it to  me again.  Oh, well SHE DID! Mad is the best way to describe my emotions at that very last line.  That is why she is so amazing!! Because she can do that!

The Delta Project: Hide by Jessica Jaster

Amazon Review:

D005 has been a part of a secret government program known as the Delta Project her entire life. She has been genetically modified to be stronger, faster, smarter and to heal faster. Trained in hand-to-hand combat, weaponry and battle tactics, she has been worked to physical and mental exhaustion every day of her life. Raised without love or care of any kind, she has no idea what it means to be happy – to be free. And now she has run away. But then she wakes up on the rocky shore of the Missouri River with no memory of how she got there, or why there are bullet wounds, scratches and bruises riddling her body. Her entire past has become a blank sheet except for a recurring nightmare of her running through the woods with dogs chasing her and voices shouting at her that she can never hide. As she struggles to understand the kind of life she has never had, emotions she has never felt before, and the mystery of her past, she is helped by Brianna Hartman and Reid Phelps – the two teenagers who discover her. When she goes to live with Brianna at the Hartman Ranch, she must also learn to deal with Bri’s brother, the gruff Cormac Hartman, who is running from his own past. He seems to hate her from the word go, but when she discovers his crude attitude is just his way of dealing with the hurt he is feeling, she decides to make it her mission to draw him back into life. Then a mysterious stranger comes to the ranch and her new world comes crashing down around her as her past comes back to haunt her.

MARY'S REVIEW:

I was approached by the author, Jessica Jaster to review this book.  I thought it sounded interesting and it was releativley short, so I thought "Why Not?"  Well, let me tell you something: THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!  I am not even kidding it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Best Part of Book: D005 is amazing! But after she excapes the Delta Project, she remembers nothing. Bri and Reid (Bri's best friend) find her and after some talking to Bri's older brother, Mac, D005 end up on their ranch.  Well, D005 doesn't remember anything so Bri and her come up with a "new name" for D005.  She becomes, Weston! (Because Bri found her in Weston Park).  Well, as the story progesses Mac and Weston become closer.  Oh I just love Mac and the way he looks out for his family!  Weston proves time and time again that she can do any tasks.  She really begins to open up and begins to feel for the people around her.  Well, you know that isn't going to last long.  It wasn't too long before the Delta Project Commander "finds" D005.  Then it gets really GOOD!!!!!!

Not so great about the book: THE ENDING!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!! Darn cliffhangers!! I was so into the book that I didn't even realize that I was on the last page.  I actually thought that something was wrong with my Kindle.  I even re-download the book to make sure that it downloaded correctly!!!  I was so upset that it just ended.  But, (thank the stars) Jessica Jaster explain that book too will be out in the summer of 2013!! Even though that is a long wait, I cannot wait!!

This is a great book and a fast read!! Jessica Jaster really pulls you into a wonderful world of characters!!
