Goodreads description:
Happily ever after doesn’t come easy. But for love, it’s always worth the fight.
Olivia finds bliss unlike any she’s ever known in Cash’s arms. He sets her skin on fire and melts her heart right inside her chest. Unfortunately, their happily ever after is short-lived when a shadow from Cash’s past threatens to turn their world upside down.
Dangerous people from his father’s world have discovered that Cash holds information that could put them away for a very long time. And they’re willing to do anything—and hurt anybody—to get it back. Giving it up means Cash must choose between the life of his father and the life of Olivia.
Having nearly overcome her wariness of bad boys, Olivia’s trust is shaken when this new threat arises. Now she finds that Cash is not only a danger to her heart, but his family has associations that are a danger to her life as well. She soon discovers that there are some situations in life where trust is a girl’s only option. And this is one of them. If she’s to live, she must trust Cash with her life. But to Olivia, that’s much, much easier than letting go and trusting him with her heart.
Mary's Review:
oh, Michelle Leighton, I love you so much!!
Best part of the book: Oh Cash!! You sexy man you!!!!! I did not think I could love him more, but I do. Cash will go to any lengths to protect Olivia from the people that are after him and his family. That just makes him sexier! However, Olivia is battling with trusting Cash or trusting herself. She wants Cash but the danger he puts himself in for her, scares her.
Well, I have to say that I loved every part of this book AND Michelle Leighton through in a twist I DID NOT SEE COMING! Great job, sweetie!
Now, don't worry Olivia and Cash still have some "alone" time and it is SO SO SO SO SO HOT!!
Not so great about the book: There was nothing that I did not "like" about the book, but the ending was a little soft. I mean that I thought and was expecting a HUGE cliffhanger, but Michelle does leave us wanting more!
Cannot wait till book 3!

Author Name:
M. Leighton
About the Author:
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, M. Leighton, is a native of Ohio. She relocated to the warmer climates of the South, where she can be near the water all summer and miss the snow all winter. Possessed of an overactive imagination from early in her childhood, Michelle finally found an acceptable outlet for her fantastical visions: literary fiction. Having written over a dozen novels, these days Michelle enjoys letting her mind wander to more romantic settings with sexy Southern guys, much like the one she married and the ones you'll find in her latest books. When her thoughts aren't roaming in that direction, she'll be riding horses, swimming in ponds and experiencing life on a ranch, all without leaving the cozy comfort of her office.
About Michelle: I love coffee and chocolate, even more so when they are combined. I'm convinced that one day they could be the basis for world peace. I also love the color red and am seriously considering dying my hair.

Book Description:
The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not.
Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white. But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins.
Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her. Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.
Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them. Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire. She wants them both. And they want her. How will she ever choose between them?

Mary's Review:
I don't think I can express how my I love M. Leighton. Between her writing style, stories and her outrageous personality she the perfect author! On top that, she can some HOT HOT guys!
Best part of book: Hello Cash and Nash! Yummy, Yummy twins! Cash: bad boy, owner of the nightclub, Dual and hot! Nash: good guy, lawyer and hot! I can understand Olivia's problem. She is attracted to both and is not sure who to choose. Olivia is an awesome character and was very nice to relate too. Each time she interacts with Cash or Nash her emotions are all over the place. Each of the guys are perfect in their own way. This just makes it harder for Olivia. I loved ever part of this book and M. Leighton does not disappoint at all.
Not so great about the book: There is nothing wrong with this book. However, there is a huge TWIST in this book and a CLIFFHANGER! M. Leighton definitely knows how to leave a girl wanting more. Another reason why I love her! I cannot wait for Book 2: Up to Me

BLOG TOUR: This and That of Cami and Trick, The Wild Ones by M. Leighton AND Giveaway
First, I need to give thanks to AToTMR and The Autumn Review for hosting this tour.
A bit about The Wild Ones:
**MATURE CONTENT ADVISORY: May not be suitable for younger readers**
Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.
Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.
But that was before she met Patrick Henley.
“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately. His family depends on him.
The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.
When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart.
Wanna stalk M. Leighton (like I do):
Wanna know more and where to purchase The Wild Ones
Now, THIS AND THAT OF CAMI AND TRICK
• Snickers or Twix
Cami: “Twix.”
Trick: “Snickers, because it satisfies.” *cocky grin*
• Mountains or Beach
(Both simultaneously) “Beach!”
• English or Western
(Both simultaneously) “Western!” *laugh*
Cami: We live in the South so of course we’re gonna say Western.”
• Blue, Green, or brown eyes
Trick: “Blue. Violet blue, like Cami’s eyes.”
Cami: “You totally stole my answer!”
Trick: “You were gonna choose blue for the color of your eyes?” *grins*
Cami: *rolls eyes* “No, I was going to say green mixed with grey, just like your eyes.”
• Country or Rock
Cami: “Rock. I’m not a huge fan of country music. Unless it’s playing while I’m dancing with Trick at Lucky’s.”
Trick: “I’d say rock or Southern rock. That’s what the band played mostly.”
• Cars or Trucks
(Both simultaneously) “Cars!” *laugh*
Trick: “She grew up around classics and so did I. I have a truck now, but I’ll get another car here before too long. It’s in my blood.”
• Cake or Ice Cream
Trick: “How about cake and ice cream?”
Cami: “Just like a man. Wants to have his cake and eat it, too. With ice cream.”
• Fast or Slow
Trick: “Depends on what we’re doing.” *wicked grin*
Cami: “Ohmigod. Next question.”
• Christmas or Halloween
Trick: “With a name like Trick, what do you think?”
Cami: “Although I love to be scared, Christmas is still my favorite holiday. Hands down.”
• Trick or Treat
Trick: “I always say pick treat.” *winks at Cami*
Cami: “But I’ll always pick Trick.”

Gravity (The Eclipse #1) by M. Leighton
Goodreads description:
Love is irresistible. Gravity is undeniable.
Holy men have foretold their birth for thousands of years. Supernatural creatures have awaited it for thousands more. Now, in the presence of an eclipse, three souls mature for a single purpose—to fight. They must fight for their lives, for their freedom and for the liberation of everyone possessed of a second nature.
********
Peyton Giles’s world is turned upside down when she learns that everyone in her life and in her school is much more than they appear, she most of all. Peyton is the one person in all of time and history powerful enough to bring peace to the darkness and to the light. Not knowing that her powers could kill her, however, Peyton nearly loses her life only to have her brother’s best friend save it. Drawn to him in ways she can’t explain, Trace is the one person that she literally can’t live without. Her soul is tethered to her world through her connection to him. Without it, she will die.
For the most part, Trace Kramer has always steered clear of his best friend’s sister. Until now. He never would’ve expected that Peyton would hold his life and his future in her hands the way she’s always held his heart. But she does.
Peyton and Trace soon learn that love and fate aren’t easier than duty and destiny, at least not when you’re being hunted. Together, they are more powerful than any other creature on the planet—and more valuable—but apart, neither can survive to fight for freedom, for the only life they’ve ever known and for the lives of everyone they’ve ever met.
Their need for one another is undeniable. Their love for one another is irresistible. But can it endure all that they must suffer?
Mary's Review:
I started this book because it was was written by M. Leighton and she is one of my favorite authors.
Best part of the book: The characters were very good. Trace, Peyton, Brady and Lacey were well amazing together. I liked their interactions together and how they did want to protect each other. Another part that I enjoyed was the ending! It was a great cliffhanger.
Not so great part of book: *hangs head* Okay, I am going to be honest. I did not like the beginning of the book. It seemed to take me forever to get into it. I am not a fan of the "groundhog effect". For those that don't know what that means it comes from the movie "Groundhog's Day" with Bill Murray. I actually had to reread the first few chapters because I was not sure what was going on. BUT ............ once I figured out that there was more to the story line than just the "groundhog effect" I really started to enjoy it. Some of you that read this might like that deja vu effect in books. If that is the case, then the beginning of the book (and the whole book) is for you!!
I will read the second book when its released.

BUT ............ once I figured out that there was more to the story line than just the "groundhog effect" I really started to enjoy it. Some of you that read this might like that deja vu effect in books. If that is the case, then the beginning of the book (and the whole book) is for you!!
I will read the second book when its released.

Fragile by M. Leighton
Goodreads description:
Her heart, as delicate as glass. His love, as strong as steel. Can either survive life and death?
Hardy Bradford is an eighteen year old football phenomenon who has the girl, the school, the town and the future in the palm of his hand. His life is all mapped out for him, right down to who he’ll marry and how he’ll become a professional football player. It doesn't seem to matter that Hardy would’ve chosen a much different life if it was up to him. But it's not. At least not until his Miracle comes along.
The first time Hardy laid eyes on Miracle St. James, he didn’t know who she was, but he knew she was something different and that he’d never get her out of his head. And he didn’t. Now, months later, Hardy’s world is turned upside down when Miracle shows up in his class, stealing his heart and forever changing the course of his life.
Miracle’s sick. Very sick. And Hardy might be losing the only thing in his life that has ever mattered. How much is too much to sacrifice for the one you love? For just a little more time? For just one more chance? Can Hardy be the hero Miracle needs? Or is it Hardy that needs saving?
Mary's Review:
First, I want to thank M. Leighton for giving me this book. I want her to know that I thought it was very kind of her. Second, I will like to say how upset I am at M. Leighton. Let me explain the reason for my anger. 1) She did not warn me to have tissues because I cried through most of the book. My emotions were all over the place with this book. Happy, sad, rage, they were every where! 2) Just when I thought she was a "outstanding" author she goes and writes this book and proves to me me wrong. She is not good, she is a stupendous author. Okay, I am over my anger! =)
Best Part of the Book: There is no question about the best part of this book. It's Miracle St. James. I laughed with her, cried with her, yelled at her and loved every moment with her. M. Leighton wrote an amazing character who now holds a special place in my Book Nerd heart.
Not So Great About Book: I am just going to sum this part of the review into this sentence: Every time I cried was the worst part of the book. FYI: I cried a lot in this book. Yes, I am softy and some what emotional BUT should have M. Leighton should have warned me!
Thank the Stars this is a stand alone book. I do not think I could handle this as a series!
By the way, I love M. Leighton still!!

To Kill an Angel (Blood Like Poison #3) by M. Leighton
Goodreads description:
Ridley Heller thought her life would be perfect and trouble-free once she had Bo back. Unfortunately, she couldn’t have been more wrong. Learning Bo’s true identity has left them with their most difficult decision yet. They have two options. One, they can run away together and spend eternity looking over their shoulder, hiding from both God and Sebastian. Or, two, they can find a way to kill Sebastian. Ridley feels like there’s really only one choice, but killing Sebastian has a major down side for her—it will leave Bo mortal and her a vampire. She’ll be doomed to walk the earth alone for all eternity.
What will they choose? And who will have to die in order to see their goal accomplished? Find out in the exciting conclusion of the Blood Like Poison series, To Kill An Angel.
Mary's Review:
Let me sum this book up in one word: SPEECHLESS! I say "speechless" because I do not know if I can put my emotions into words of what this book did to me!
Best part of the book: Ridley and Bo. I know, I know I keep saying they are the best in each review. But it is TRUE! Once Ridley and Bo figure out their destinies the book takes a completely different twist! (This is not a spoiler its in the books description) Ridley becomes a vampire and if Bo kills Sebastian then he will be mortal! CRAZY!!
Not so great part of the book: The tears that I cried at the end of the book! I blamed M. Leighton for my headache that night. The fight scene between Ridley, Bo and Sebastian was so detailed that all I could do was cry. Bo's emotions for Ridley and the sacrifices that they made just made me cry!
Why read this book: You need to read this whole series because it will be one that you will not forget! M. Leighton is an amazing, talented author and she makes you love/cheer/cry for these characters!
There will be a book 4 but at this time there is no release date for it yet (as far as I know)

Destined for a Vampire (Blood Like Poison #2) by M. Leighton
Goodreads description:
Ridley Heller thought that all her problems would be over if she could have Bo back—back from the dead. But what Ridley didn’t know was that her wish would come at a price.
Bo survived a condition that would have killed a lesser vampire, or any vampire for that matter. The only reason he didn’t die is because of who he is, someone Ridley doesn’t know at all. Someone Bo himself doesn’t know at all.
As Ridley gets closer to finding out Bo’s true identity, she discovers that loving him could also come at a price, a price much higher than she ever could have imagined. The question is: is there any such thing as a price too high to pay for Bo? For his love, for his safety, for eternity in his arms?
Mary's Reviews:
WHAT!?!?! OMG!!!! I thought book 1 was an emotional roller coaster this was just as bad! M. Leighton knows how to make a girl want more.
Best part of the book: Bo and Ridley. At the end of Book 1 I was a mess! I assumed that Bo was dead and Ridley would have to go on without him. But, thank the stars, that M. Leighton did not do that to me! However, they are not able to run off into the sunset just yet! Bo has to fulfill his destiny before he can be with Ridley forever and the question is: "Will he survive? Will Ridley survive?"
Not so great part of the book: M. Leighton is the not so great part of this book. Let me explain: she put me through an obscene amount of emotions and she is a tease! Ok, so that really is not a bad thing because she wants to leave the reader wanting more, but it was still hard for me! Right when I think that Ridley and Bo would get some "alone" time she pulls the rug out and they have to go fight more vampires or something else. Then when I think they are finally able to have a moment of calm she does it again. I was very frustrated but, at the same time, I was on the edge of my seat to see if Ridley and Bo would be able to survive.
Why read this book: I will say it again this book is not like any other Vampire / Human Girl story. M. Leighton is extremely talented and this was better than Book 1.

For the Love of a Vampire (Blood Like Poison #1) by M. Leighton

Mary's Review:
I have become the biggest M. Leighton fan! Between the Madly series, The Wild Ones and now this series I cannot believe how much I am loving M. Leighton' stories! She is an author that knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. More than once in this book was I given a #BookNerdHeartAttack !
Best part of book: BO! Bo is the best part of this book. Hot, young and caring vampire is how I would describe Bo. Oh, did I forget to mention he is HOT! Well, he is! On top of that, he has very, very strong feelings for Ridley. At first, Ridley kind of got on my nerves and here is why: she was a follower. She did everything her friends wanted her to do and she saw right through them. However, she never stood up to them. Then one day she did and it was GREAT! See, Ridley has had a rough past few years and it was not until Bo came into her life that she began to see things differently. She was immediately pulled to Bo. (Um, hello! Hot vampire!) But it was more than that. Bo was there for Ridley more than once to save her and he would sacrifice anything for her! I do mean ANYTHING!
Not so great about the book: THE ENDING! Talk about a cliffhanger. I was on the verge of throwing my Kindle across the room because I was so hurt/upset/mad (all rolled into one) at the ending of this book! But, after I tweeted M. Leighton she told me it would be ok and read book 2.
Why read this book: Ok, I know what you are thinking: hot vampire and a girl - been there, done that. WRONG! This has a lot more "story" to it then just love. Do not get me wrong there is love but the back stories and the character are much different than other Vampire/Human Girl stories!

The Wild Ones by M. Leighton
Goodreads description:
Mary's Review:
This is the second book that I have read that has a cowboy in it, this week! What is wrong with me??? Oh, I can tell you ....... its the HOT Cowboys!
When I read M. Leighton's Madly series I thought it was the most unique reads. When I began talking with Leighton on Twitter she informed me of this book. I read the description and I thought, "Sound interesting". Usually I read YA and supernatural, but a girl can change her mind. Right?!
Well, I am so glad that I read this! Talk about H-O-T! Trick (who's name is Patrick) meets Cami in a local bar. It was an instant attraction. However, a few problems are in their way: Cami has a boyfriend, Cami's dad, Jack is very strict and does not want Trick and Cami to hang out. Trick works for Cami's father and has to keep his job. Trick dropped out of college to come home and take care of his mother and little sister.
However, can you really stop true love? I have to say I was worried because M. Leighton through a HUGE twist into the story and I was unsure if their love could survive.
This is a GREAT STORY! I would recommend everyone go to Amazon and order it.

Madly & the Jackal (Madly #3) by M. Leighton
Goodreads Description:
How deep does love run? Deeper than the ocean? Deeper than memory? Deeper than magic?
Following their plan to save Atlas, Madly and Jackson return the spirit of Wolfhardt to his prison beneath the sea. But even the best laid plans couldn’t account for the surprises they find. This time, Lore aren’t their only challenges.
Madly is special in ways no one could have guessed and dark forces seek to control her. They want her power, but first they must weaken her. They need her beaten. Vulnerable. Near death. And alone. But that task isn’t an easy one with Jackson at her side. The strongest of their kind, the only way to separate Jackson from Madly is to destroy his love for her, to erase it from his mind. And his heart.
Is it possible to steal Jackson’s love from Madly? Or is their love the only truly unbreakable thing?
Mary's Review:
This is how I sum up this book......WHAT!? This book was crazy! (In a very good way)
M. Leighton gives us another twist by using the Jackal and Hyde tale while Madly tries to still save Atlas, her family, and her people. Let's not forget her feelings for Jackson are still grow stronger and now there are more dark forces that are trying to drag her down.
In this part of the series I felt so bad for Madly. As much as she leans on Jackson, she is really starting to feel the struggles of all that is happening around her. The dark forces are really dragging her down.
The one part that I loved was a couple scenes between Jackson and Madly, but then their love fades (slightly). Of course the one thing that M. Leighton is good at is leaving us on a cliffhanger!
It's hard to put into words how great this story/series is because I do not want to give away the full plot or have any spoilers. TRUST ME, READ IT!
Now I have to wait until Book 4!

Madly & Wolfhardt (Madly #2) by M. Leighton
Goodreads Description:
Madly is your average nearly-eighteen year old girl—for a princess, that is.
Madly James is thoroughly enjoying her internship in the small town of Slumber when the unthinkable happens—there’s a prison break in Atlas, the magically-protected home of Madly’s race. A traitor has set free eight Lore, the spirits of what humans know as fairy tales, and they are making their way to Slumber to awaken their descendants.
The first spirit to arrive is that of Ulrich Wolfhardt, a man that was once obsessed with wolves and a young maiden he would follow through the woods. After a bite from a wolf, Wolfhardt’s obsession with the girl became an unnatural hunger and the young maiden’s grandmother cursed him with a fate worse than death. And now he’s back…with a vengeance and a bite that can infect others as well.
Madly must learn the identity of Wolfhardt’s descendant and stop him before he kills again and spreads his curse across the earth. But the only person strong enough to help Madly is Jackson, the Sentinel who vowed to protect her and the one person capable of breaking her heart. Can Madly resist forbidden love long enough to save the world from Wolfhardt? Or will she have to sacrifice her heart and her destiny to save the ones she loves?
Mary's Review:
M. Leighton keeps the twist and turns coming with book 2. I love how M. Leighton can intertwine mermaids and fairy tales together.
Madly and Jackson have to figure out where the "big-bad wolf" is and how to capture him. First, they need to figure out who the descendant and try to save her. On top of that, Madly and Jackson's feeling are growing stronger. Oh and let's not forget Madly has to save her family and save Atlas.
In this book M. Leighton twisted Little Red Riding Hood into the story and I loved how she did it. It is somewhat hard to explain because I do not want give away any of the details BUT its so easy to read. M. Leighton is amazing on how she twisted these into an amazing story. The one thing that I did like it is how M. Leighton leaves the story on a cliffhanger.
Onto Book 3!

But Madly’s only help are her two best friends and the Sentinel, Jackson Hamilton, that threatens both her heart and her destiny. Madly has loved Jackson as long as she can remember, but he is the one thing even a princess can’t have. Can she resist love to become the queen she was fated to be? Or can she find a way to have both?
This novelette introduces you to Madly and prepares you for the quest of a lifetime
Mary's Review:
I love the supernatural world but I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever read a book about mermaids and M. Leighton has sucked me into this world. This is such a different story line because not only do you have mermaids but M. Leighton puts a very neat twist into the book by using all-time favorite fairy tales.
This is the just a short novella to get your "feet wet" in the life of Madly James, Princess of Atlas. It takes you into this world very quickly. We learn that 8 Lore, which are the evil spirits and also part of the fairy tales have escaped and Atlas has been capture.
Madly, Aiden (her intended husband) and Jersey (her best friend) are currently going school on the dry land. When Madly figures out is going on she heads to the headquarters to figure out what is going on. It is there that she meets up with Jackson, who will now be her bodyguard, and the man that she loves. The problem is that they cannot be together.
On top of that, Madly's main problem is that she is the only that can save Atlas. Plus, there is a traitor. Let's not forget she has to capture the Lore, too!
This was a very quick read! But it leaves you wanting more.
In order to save her home, the lives of her family, and all of humanity, Madly must learn to wield her exceptional powers and recapture the Lore before it’s too late and all is lost.
