Blog Tour: Keystone by Misty Provencher

This blog tour is hosted by Candace Book Blog

Goodreads Description:

There’s a man-made storm coming, like a rip in the world, and it’s called the Cusp.

Struggling to fit into the destiny she’s accepted, Nalena Maxwell has been left with one objective: she must find her murdered grandfather’s Memory. Stolen and hidden away by her own father over seventeen years ago, the Memory could be the key to ending the Cusp and destroying the Ianua’s rival community, The Fury.

Driven by each individual’s selfish desires, The Fury has always lacked the loyalty and organization it needs to be an actual force of power.

Until now.

Someone masterminded the Fury’s massive attack on the Ianua, slaughtering twelve of their thirteen community leaders, the Addos. Now there are rumors that the 13th Cura, to which Nali belongs, has gone to the Fury, manipulating the last Addo in order to control the other 12 Curas.

As the Cusp brings the Fury and their own communities against them, Nalena’s Cura must preserve the Ianua, but finding the key to the Cusp isn’t as simple as it seems.

Mary's Review:

When I read Cornerstone, I did not think it could get any better.  Well, I was WRONG!  Keystone is amazing, awesome and keeps you wanting me.  Garrett, Nali and crew are all back in Book 2.  It picks up right were Cornerstone left off at.

Best part of the book:  I think the best part of the book is the relationship between Garrett and Nali.  It is complicated and (some times) frustrating.  There is a continuous pull between them both and I love that because they each need other.  After everything that they have been through they both can rely on each other.  The other part of the book that I enjoyed was the all around humor.  Zane, Sean and others just keep it a bit lighthearted in time of stress.

Not so good part of the book:  Nali's self-doubt.  Do not get me wrong Nali has been through so much there is no wonder this girl made it this far.  However, ever time she finds herself in a situation she doubts herself.  Yes, she does work through it to conquer the situation but it was tough to read because you know that she has it in her to be the best but just can't bring herself to it.

Why read this book:  Misty is the reason you should read this book.  Let me explain: she is an amazing and talented author.  Her imagination and dedication to the story and characters as first-rate!  You will not be disappointed.

STAY TUNED FOR TOMORROW WHERE WE WILL HAVE A SPECIAL INTERVIEW WITH ONE OF THE CHARACTERS OF THE BOOK.  CAN YOU GUESS WHO?

  1. So glad you loved! I think it's Nali's self doubt that helped make it real for me. She went from a normal average girl to a girl much MORE than normal, so it only makes sense that she doesn't yet have faith in her abilities.
It's always exciting for me to see the great reviews for these books, to see people who believe in them as much as I do!

  2. Have read CORNERSTONE twice and am almost through with KEYSTONE. What I love about each of Misty Provencher's books is the humor that buffers the stresses when her lead character has to learn how to function in a whole, new way of life. Characters are all unique and wonderful with a pile of chuckles thrown in. This book is fun to READ, not just FINISH, and can be read over again, just for the fast-paced adventure and the wonderful dialogue.

And it is so visual that it plays like a movie in my mind. What great visual effects there would be on the big screen!
