Fragile by M. Leighton

Goodreads description:

Her heart, as delicate as glass. His love, as strong as steel. Can either survive life and death?

Hardy Bradford is an eighteen year old football phenomenon who has the girl, the school, the town and the future in the palm of his hand. His life is all mapped out for him, right down to who he’ll marry and how he’ll become a professional football player. It doesn't seem to matter that Hardy would’ve chosen a much different life if it was up to him. But it's not. At least not until his Miracle comes along.

The first time Hardy laid eyes on Miracle St. James, he didn’t know who she was, but he knew she was something different and that he’d never get her out of his head. And he didn’t. Now, months later, Hardy’s world is turned upside down when Miracle shows up in his class, stealing his heart and forever changing the course of his life.

Miracle’s sick. Very sick. And Hardy might be losing the only thing in his life that has ever mattered. How much is too much to sacrifice for the one you love? For just a little more time? For just one more chance? Can Hardy be the hero Miracle needs? Or is it Hardy that needs saving?

Mary's Review:

First, I want to thank M. Leighton for giving me this book.  I want her to know that I thought it was very kind of her.  Second, I will like to say how upset I am at M. Leighton.  Let me explain the reason for my anger.  1) She did not warn me to have tissues because I cried through most of the book.  My emotions were all over the place with this book.  Happy, sad, rage, they were every where! 2) Just when I thought she was a "outstanding" author she goes and writes this book and proves to me me wrong.  She is not good, she is a stupendous author.  Okay, I am over my anger! =)

Best Part of the Book:  There is no question about the best part of this book.  It's Miracle St. James.  I laughed with her, cried with her, yelled at her and loved every moment with her.  M. Leighton wrote an amazing character who now holds a special place in my Book Nerd heart.

Not So Great About Book:  I am just going to sum this part of the review into this sentence:  Every time I cried was the worst part of the book.  FYI: I cried a lot in this book.  Yes, I am softy and some what emotional BUT should have M. Leighton should have warned me!

Thank the Stars this is a stand alone book.  I do not think I could handle this as a series!

By the way, I love M. Leighton still!!

  1. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book despite its toll on your emotions. It haunted me until I wrote it, so I can kind of understand;). But at least there was, as always, a HEA!!! THANK YOU for reading and reviewing it and for those AMAZING words about me. Now I'm the one crying:). <3
